KNOCKACLARIG NS. CUMANN na mBUNSCOL

The Duhallow Rural schools Football Competition is a great chance for Cork and Kerry Primary footballers to engage in Gaelic games. At Rathcoole on Wednesday last in teeming rain the games got underway. Regardless of the weather the semi-final stage was reached after some pulsating, skillful and competitive football. Hollymount NS. and Knockaclarig NS. qualified for the semi-final stage. They await the qualifiers from the other group. The finals, it is hoped will be played next week. Unfortunately due to the inclement weather conditions we neither got photos nor video of the games on the day. Next week we shall, hopefully, have plenty photos and indeed some video.

PADDY KEANE in a SLOVENIAN SCHOOL

Here is Paddy Keane, Runai Chumann na mBunscol Chiarrai having a chat with Slovenian primary pupils in a school in Koper, Slovenia. Listening to every word is native teacher, Karerinja, the most well versed Slovenian teacher in GAA matters (and an inducted Kerry Supporter) who is intrigued with the Cumann na mBunscol concept.

Congratulations to Sean Geaney, Bainisteoir Fhoireann Chiarrai fe-21 agus Muinteoir Scoile i nGaelscoil Aogain, Oilean Chiarrai, on managing Kerry to an outstanding All-Ireland Under-21 Final at Semple Stadium, Thurles last evening. Playing exhilarating football and exhibiting only the best in the Kerry tradition this team covered itself in glory and is a credit to the county.

Special congratulations to Kieran Brennan (Desmonds) and a former Kerry Primary Game player who contributed handsomely to the victory.
